About me

Joelle Y. Jean, FNP-C is a dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of experience in nursing, management, and leadership. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Boston College, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from New York University, and a Master of Science in Nursing from Long Island University.

As a Family Nurse Practitioner, Joelle has worked in internal medicine and primary care, serving patients across various settings. 

She’s held roles as a volunteer ambassador, clinical instructor, preceptor, and mentor to new and experienced nurses. 

Her commitment to excellence has earned her the Nursing Excellence Award and Service Excellence Award.

Joelle is a certified National Diabetic Prevention Program Lifestyle Change Coach, and completed education on Functional Medicine, specifically on the Therapeutic Food Plans, a component of personalized nutrition, and Obesity Management. 

Beyond clinical practice, Joelle has contributed to nursing education and advocacy as a senior writer for NurseJournal.org, creating insightful content on representation in nursing, patient advocacy, and artificial intelligence

She has also shared her expertise on a global stage, serving as a keynote speaker at the 4th International Hybrid Nursing Conference at Dar Al Shifa Hospital in Kuwait, where she presented on “AI and Nursing: Current and Emerging Trends.”

Joelle is currently full time faculty at CUNY Citytech in Brooklyn, NY. 

Joelle is an active member of the New York Black Nurses Association and the American Nurses Association

She lives in Queens, NY, with her husband, three children, and their cat. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends.
